Opened in Kuala Lumpur on 1 September 2024 as the first Japanese degree-awarding overseas branch campus; campus hosted at Wisma R&D, Universiti Malaya. UTMy has NO presence in the Malaysian Qualifications Register (MQR) by design: its single degree, the Bachelor of Arts and Science, is conferred by the University of Tsukuba as the same degree awarded in Japan, and quality assurance runs through Japan's Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) rather than MQA accreditation — so no MQA FA/PA/SWA badge applies. Enrolment is tiny by design (40 places per intake; MOHE statistics recorded 26 enrolled in 2025). No master's programme was offered on UTMy's own site at collection (2026-10-09); the only programme is the bachelor's above.
