Chinese independent schools (独中)

Malaysia’s Chinese independent secondary schools are a separate, community-funded system: Mandarin-medium, teaching the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) curriculum coordinated by Dong Zong (UCSCAM). They are not international schools and are never mixed into that directory.

We list 63 schools: the 60 UCSCAM-registered schools, the Kulai and Seri Alam branch campuses of Foon Yew High School, and Chong Hwa Secondary School Kuantan — whose record states plainly that its 独中 status is disputed (it sits the UEC but is registered as a national-curriculum academic school). 19 of the 63 publish fee figures we could verify; the rest are labelled [NV].

Fees in this system are far lower than international schools — but most schools publish them as printed notices or images rather than web tables, and some publish nothing machine-readable at all. Where a figure could not be verified from the school’s own publication, the page says so instead of guessing.
